Happy Birthday, iPod

On this day 6 years ago, the iPod was born.  Unlike most of us, it’s become smaller as it’s aged.  I only own a rarely-used iPod shuffle, which I received free in some sort of online promotion, but I know many other people who just swear by their iPods and who carry them everywhere.  I do covet a video iPod, and am sure I would have received one a couple of years ago, if only I hadn’t stopped believing in Santa (thus being removed from the “nice” list).  I’ve read that the next generation of iPods will actually be a bit larger than the current “nano” types, which will be a welcome relief to people with large fingers.

Mouse pad for cat lovers

Leave it to Japan to bring us new products that we didn’t even know we needed.  Case in point, this mouse pad shaped like a cat’s paw.  While it looks very cute and stylish in the photos, I can’t help but feel that all the little soft pads would just get in the way, or give you a rash.  I guess some folks enjoy padding or support from their mouse pad, but I’m unfortunately not one of them.  No word on if any retailers in the US will be selling this item, but if you want to buy it directly from the Japanese website, the price converts to about $17 USD.
